Blockchain applications bring a wide range of significant public policy challenges and opportunities. The RMIT Blockchain Innovation Hub engages with government, policymakers, stakeholders, media and the general public to explore and shed light on how blockchain materially changes the regulatory and economic environment. Core relevant questions include how cryptocurrencies and tokens are taxed, how blockchain-enabled organisations are regulated, how financial transactions on the blockchain are supervised and evaluated by regulatory authorities, how blockchains can be integrated into existing regulatory frameworks, and how economic, social, individual, and political rights can be secured in the blockchain space.
