Each year the Robyn Beeche Award profiles exemplary folios by Bachelor of Arts (Photography) students. In honour of the late fashion photographer’s unique vision and experimental drive a $2000 prize from the Robyn Beeche Foundation will be awarded to one student to support their graduating portfolio.
Calls for entries go out June each year and the finalists are exhibited in Site8 Gallery in early August..
Finalists gain a great deal of exposure and experience through inclusion in the Robin Beeche Award. In addition to support with printing for the exhibition, students gain a great deal of exposure and professional development.
The exhibition is a feature of RMIT Photography Open Day program. Finalists learn a great deal about how to talk to the public about their work by invigilating the gallery throughout the day. In 2022 over 30,000 people attended RMIT Open Day and the works are highlighted via RMIT Photography social media.

Robyn Beeche Award 2023 brings together the work of five final year Bachelor of Arts (Photography) students; Jade Jones, Alla Kuyunzhi, R.N, Tilly Parsons, Yi (11) Zhou.

Congratulations Mingyuan Zhang (R.N Studio) on winning the 2023 Robyn Beeche Award with their work ‘Inflated’! Each year the Robyn Beeche Award profiles exemplary folios by RMIT Bachelor of Arts (Photography) students in the final semester of their program. In honour of the late fashion photographer’s unique vision and experimental drive, the Robyn Beeche Foundation awards a cash prize to one student to support their graduating portfolio. Our thanks to Jack Beeche of the #RobynBeeche Foundation for this invaluable partnership, photographer Tintin Hedberg @tintinhedberg for being a member of the judging panel, and to Associate Lecturer Isabella Capezio for coordinating the exhibition. The exhibition was the centrepiece of RMIT School of Art Photography Discipline Open Day.
