In this course, you will explore ways Generative AI is shaping contemporary society and art practices. You will examine how artists are using this technology to reflect on, and contribute to, creative discourses around notions of authorship, fiction and speculation. Alongside this, you will address and discuss the ethical dimensions of generative AI in creative work as the field continues to evolve.
The course is structured to demystify complex technical concepts, making them accessible and relevant to creative practice. Through a series of projects and workshops, you will develop your own artwork using AI as a creative medium. These practical tasks will help you understand how different AI models process data and develop your capacity to confidently work with these tools in this ever-changing field.
The course also encourages experimentation and critical thinking, challenging and supporting you to push the boundaries of these technologies in your creative practice. Upon completion of the course, you will have a solid grasp of AI’s role in creative practice, be well-equipped to engage with this technology in your own artistic endeavors and be able to critically consider the ethical implications of AI-driven creative work.
