In this rapidly evolving digital era, where technology intertwines with our lives, the concept of subjectivity has taken on new dimensions. The Server of Flesh Pavilion (SOF) seeks to engage with artists whose work explores the intricate relationship between subjectivity and technology, considering the impact of the digital medium on our sense of self. We are particularly interested in artworks that challenge established notions of identity, question the boundaries of the physical and virtual, and provoke critical reflection on the transformative power of technology on our subjective experiences.
Artists are encouraged to consider various aspects of subjectivity within the digital context, such as:
- Shifting identities: How has technology influenced the construction and expression of personal identities? How do online spaces shape our sense of self?
- Hybrid/mutable realities: What happens when the boundaries between the physical and virtual worlds blur? How does this impact our understanding of subjectivity? What are we capable of becoming?
- Digital communities: How do online communities and virtual social interactions shape our perception of self and others? What are the implications for our sense of belonging?
We welcome proposals from artists working in a wide range of mediums, including but not limited to:
- Virtual and augmented reality experiences
- Generative and algorithmic art
- Data visualization
- Internet-based art
- Sound and video art
- Bio art and technologically mediated bodies
- Participatory and socially engaged art
Selected artists will have the opportunity to showcase their work in the “Server of Flesh” Pavilion, offering a digital platform for critical dialogue and engagement with a diverse audience.
The “Server of Flesh” Pavilion encourages diversity and inclusion. Artists from underrepresented backgrounds and communities are strongly encouraged to apply. If you have any questions, contact us at info@projetlitote.org
PLEASE NOTE: In case you are selected for the pavilion, your work needs to be able to be put in, or translated into a digital space (game engine).
