The work of Dr Peter Stasinopoulos, Dr Nirajan Shiwakoti and former student Mr Sean McDonald has been awarded the prestigious ‘Best Scientific Paper – Asia Pacific’ at the 23rd World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITSWC), held in Melbourne 10-14 October, 2016.
The authors communicated their work in a paper and presentation titled ‘Life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions of electric and conventional vehicles in Australia’ ITSWC, one of the largest and most prestigious conferences in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), is a joint global effort of ITS America, ITS Asia-Pacific and ITS Europe.
The conference was an opportunity for government and industry policy makers, practitioners and researchers to share information on innovation and technical developments addressing modern transport issues. The official statistics show that the conference was attended by 11,496 visitors from 73 countries, the highest attendance in the conference’s history.
