Capstone research activities that were displayed included a project on “Using Microdrones to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) engagement”, as well as “Cognitive Human-Machine Interfaces and Interactions (CHMI2) for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Air Traffic Management (ATM) Systems”. Additionally, an industry-based project addressing the design of all avionics systems for cooperative bushfire fighting by UAS and conventional aircraft was also featured. The VC commended the students for the quality and relevance of their work and encouraged them to carefully asses the impacts of automation on the future.
RMIT Vice Chancellor Visits CPS Group Laboratories
On Friday 27th April, the Vice Chancellor (VC) of RMIT University, Mr Martin Bean, visited the Aerospace Intelligent and Autonomous Systems laboratory. A large number of undergraduate and postgraduate students joined this visit to showcase their research and coursework design activities.
