Lab Facilities and Activities
The CPS group operates custom designed, immersive and network-enabled simulation facilities. Flight simulators supports a wide range of research activities in the field of human-machine systems design, including: manned and unmanned aircraft avionics/ground control systems; defence, security and humanitarian mission systems; and hardware/human-in-the-loop testing. Advanced sensors and computing platforms are available for research on human factors and ergonomics. Further capabilities include state-of-the art Air Traffic Management (ATM) simulators, constituted by an immersive Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower and industrial-grade hardware and software tools for the development of next-generation ATM systems. Following succesfull engagement with Qantas/Express Freighters Australia, the CPS group has been granted access to pilot training facilities for collaborative research undertakings.
