Partnerships

The Partnerships and WIL (Work Integrated Learning) team can assist with a wide range of areas.

We cultivate rewarding relationships with business, government and community partners.

RMIT Media Precinct, Melbourne.

Internships and Employment

Engage an intern

The Schools’ Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program sees industry play a key role in education, training and work experience. Find out more about internships.

Offer a paid internship or internship award

A great way to attract the best talent to your organisation is to offer paid internships, or an internship award.

Hire a student or graduate

We welcome opportunities for student and graduate employment and can promote your opportunity directly to our students in specific degree programs. To register a paid role, please complete the request form.

Partnered Projects

Partner a project

Partnered projects form a significant part of our Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program. In a partnered project, students work on your real-world communication or design issue, under the supervision of a lecturer as part of coursework.

Prizes and Scholarships

Offer prizes, sponsorships, or scholarships

Excellence is acknowledged by named prizes for outstanding student performance such as the RMIT Adobe UX Awards. In addition to awards and prizes, sponsorship opportunities also include named scholarships.

The quality of work in the RMIT Adobe UX Awards demonstrates why RMIT students and graduates are sought after in the industry.

Industry Advisors, Mentors and Speakers

Be an industry advisor

Industry Advisory Committees (IACs) comprise members from relevant industry partners and bodies, as well as teaching staff. IACs work to deliver on program structure and content which reflects the changing nature of the media, communications and design industries.

Speak to students

Our partners also frequently share their expertise in speaker programs for courses, studios and events.

Mentor a student

If you are an industry professional with leadership experience you can also support students to explore their career options in your field through RMIT’s Career Mentoring Program.

“The idea of these kinds of appointments is to bring certain industry expertise and perspectives into the faculty, as well as create links outwardly.”

Research

Engage a supervised project team

We assemble a small team of graduates or students to work on your short-term communication issue or project, under the supervision of a qualified researcher. This format can be used to prepare for, or extend on, a partnered project.

Engage a postgraduate research intern

Internships are funded by the industry partner and may attract government funding as well as R&D credits.

Work with our researchers

Our Schools’ research centres, groups and labs have a national and international impact in their specialist areas. Benefits include connections to outstanding researchers, access to collaborative funding schemes through the Australian Research Council, promotion of outcomes of research, as well as exposure to commercial opportunities.

Sponsor a PhD

Tap into the minds and skills of some of the brightest people around. PhD candidates may come from our cohort or from your existing staff. Industry partners help set the focus and scale of the PhD, can give access to primary source data for investigation, and can even be co-supervisors to ensure the PhD is achieving its aims.
