Existing spatial infrastructures make it easy to share spatial data, algorithms, and software, but offer little in the capture, cataloguing, sharing, and reuse of the intelligence behind that data. Capturing this intelligence is becoming increasingly vital, with efforts such as the National Innovation and Science Agenda (NISA) and the National Spatial Analytics Capability (NSAC) focusing on eliminating duplication of effort and enhancing our spatial analytics. Open Spatial Analytics (OSA) seeks to unlock the final component of the ‘open’ paradigm using scientific workflows, to create an open platform to unlock this hidden knowledge, and make any spatial analytics process shareable and understandable by all.
