FAST/SLOW WE HOLOMETABOLISE

Holometabolism, also called complete metamorphosis, is a form of insect development which includes four life stages: egg, larva, pupa and imago (adult) –Wikipedia

Fast/Slow We Holometabolise is a multimedia diary of transformation in the face of illness, trauma and internal conflict, which draws parallels between the personal adaptations humans make throughout their life to the life cycle of Lepidoptera, and broader concepts of evolution, creation, and decay. I respond to the challenges of survival and self-acceptance as a queer, neurodivergent and chronically ill person, and explore the way in which the undulating cycles of my life (health/illness, pain/comfort, panic/calm, joy/melancholy) exist in synchronicity with other organisms in the natural world around me.
