Using the yielding yet resilient qualities of clay with a playful and intuitive approach, untitled (blue) explores the concept of perception and the way that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.

Monica is an artist who uses the qualities of porcelain clay to make intimate, small-scale sculptural arrangements. Through the ceramic process, she uses blue glazes, stains and oxides to create a sense of serenity she finds in the colour blue.
Porcelain clay offers a pure white body to hold the delicately detailed sgraffito drawings and emphasise the vibrant blue of cobalt oxide. Her works are predominantly hand-made while using drawing and painting skills to create illustrative details.
