UNTITLED looks at the how our experiences pre-colour our perceptions. Wielding the ceramic medium in a way to deceive the viewer’s perception of material reality, the work explores how one might try to intervene in how they are perceived. With contrasting textures Untitled explores conflicts and frustrations in identity and discernment.
My practice is based on diverting from traditional ceramic procedures through experimenting with burn out techniques and sculptural hand building. Conceptually, I utilise a deconstruct than reconstruct methodology to develop ideas into abstracted forms, to communicate using a visual language that is not obvious.
