ON EXIT WOUNDS: A WALKING TOUR OF THINGS LEFT BEHIND (For Dawn Kelly)
My practice persistently engages with concepts of the archive, and archival objects, along with explorations of intimacy.
This year my research was focused on creating art and archives surrounding a friend who had passed away, and how experimental creative acts, in conversation with personal archives, can attempt to adequately express grief’s ongoing processes.
The works that eventuated seek to engage an audience in an intensive game of empathy/empathy-seeking along with echoing my own exploratory practices of memory seeking, and keeping, in response to my experiences with loss.
