UNTITLED captures the idea of abstract ceramic forms that combines two textures. One with a fluid, glossy surface that reflects light and another that portrays a rough, matte texture that’s raw and organic. This creates a dynamic tension between the combination of both soft and raw interpretations through a ceramic practice.

This installation comprises five forms that aim to capture the concept of contrasting textures. This body of work focuses on replicating textures using tools and clay as well as glaze. Both textures are combined onto one form as a way to see them both contrast and compliment one another.

Daisy’s practice is based on hand-building techniques and experimenting with glazes that reflect different textures and colours, as well as their symbolism. As an individual that’s always been passionate about details and repetition, she aims to communicate this through her ceramic practice. Her works explore the textures that can be found in nature, such as tree bark or rain, and looks into how this could be replicated on a ceramic form.
