MICROCOSM.

Microcosm is a body of work investigating the patterns, convergences and linkages between life on earth.

I am interested in the linkages of life and matter through coexistence, and this project is formed on deep investigations into the natural world. I utilise deep pattern recognition in this work, noticing occurrences such as rock formations, microscopy of genetic makeup, and animal and plant biology. The work considers material investigations and the agency of matter, to find linkages between material and intuitive process.  Pattern recognition and slow looking are the bases of my methodology, and I have created this work in the same way, using the cornerstone of care to represent the harmony of matter.

This project aims to foster a deeper appreciation for the ever growing systems in place in the natural world that often go unnoticed or rather, unappreciated.

I am a print-based emerging artist living and working between Melbourne/Naarm and rural Victoria. I specialise in etching techniques including photographic etching and chine collé, and produce works on paper and fabric. My practice investigates materiality, pattern, slowness, and connectedness. I work with themes of community and care ethics to form a methodology of practice rooted in softness and consideration.
