My practice is greatly impacted by my experiences with undiagnosed neurodivergence, growing up queer, and grappling with mental illness. While these features of my life inflict themselves upon my work, I find myself experiencing the most joy when I focus my time on communal storytelling, expression, and explorations of mythology and symbolism.
My work takes two main forms: traditional and digital. The physical form of painting, taking up space and matter; these are crafted through layering, meticulous colour mixing and experimenting with the materiality of my medium. Within digital work I design and illustrate characters connected to the elaborate fictions I make within a community of friends, exploring therapeutic forms of storytelling and the reparative natures of fandom culture.
Going forward with my practice, I intend to continue developing archives of expression; I will continue to make work within fandom and table top roleplay communities and experimenting with motifs and symbolism in my paintings. The stories I tell, ultimately, are as important to me as my own history, and this is a fact reflected in my practice.
