Here With Me is an immersive installation designed as a sanctuary for conversation and connection. Amid the overwhelming negativity and isolation we often feel, this piece invites visitors to step into a space of shared warmth and tranquility. Draped in sheer yellow fabric reminiscent of childhood bed curtains — a place of comfort, calm, and self-expression — the installation forms a gentle enclosure where viewers can leave behind external stresses and connect more deeply with themselves and each other. By creating a haven for authentic interaction, Here with Me seeks to cultivate moments of peace and presence, celebrating the simplicity and beauty of human connection.
Georgia Drummond is a multi-disciplinary installation artist who focuses her conceptual work on the deep connections between human experiences and the environments that shape them. Growing up on Kulin Country, rural Victoria, she was surrounded by a close-knit community and the Australian bush’s serene beauty, which created the foundation of her artistic expression. Her art tells the story of her growth and lessons learned and is an ongoing cycle that she believes will never come to a resolution. Georgia’s practice is driven by the immersive experiences she wishes her audience to have, with designs and materials following to complement them. She has worked with manipulating wood, metal, clay, fabric, and various found materials. Georgia is now based in Melbourne but continues to explore the intersections of nature and humanity, drawing heavily on the memories of her childhood environment.
