Redrafting Reality: Exploring Architectures through Memory and Fantasy
In this project I explore the interplay of reality and imagination, combining strict architectural norms with fanciful elements. Inspired by my family’s experience of migration and their memories, I create works that defy logic and convey a sense of weirdness that can challenge perceptions of how spaces can be reimagined playfully. Using traditional tools of graphite, and technical drawing instruments that aid in the precision associated with architecture, I create impossible buildings from their exterior to their interior, later twisting and shifting the perspective and subjects. My works tend to prioritise fun rather than political or messaging themes. I intend to create works that encourage viewer how they can reimagine their surrounding spaces, sparking a desire for an alternative design method.
