So you know, I’m all yours… represents a devotion of love without shame, a dedication of my entire self to the interplay of queer love and sports. So you know, I’m all yours… is a love letter left unsent, a fragile banner expressing a fearless allegiance, waiting to be torn apart.
My work is an ever changing exploration of taking up space, creating and expressing narratives often hidden away in shame. The experience of my identity and love being constantly overlooked allows for brilliance to unfold in the shadows. My practice has evolved in reaction to this, exploring the space I can claim and thrive in creatively.
Retaliation – to retaliate or to resist? I find myself pondering this often in my process, a subconscious self restraint holding me back from unleashing anger on those who dictate my path. Painting has become a method of navigating these conflicting feelings in my mind, a process that uncovers expression. An expression in relinquishing retaliation, taking up space and becoming the mockery itself.
