ISQUARED GALLERY EXHIBITION AWARD WINNER
ALLEGORICAL AND INNATE GESTURES OF THE HAND is engaged with intuitive modes of making and the symbolic possibility of images.
I explore ideas with a multi-disciplinary approach. This encompasses drawing, painting, collage and fabric work, often using the mediums of pencil, ink and acrylic paint. Two-dimensional forms of painting and drawing are important to my practice. I am inspired by introspection, film, the everyday and fashion.
Through my individual employment of metaphorical imagery, I hope to convey personal experience and narrative. I intend for the ambiguous nature of images to inspire contemplation and story construction in viewers.
With intuitive methods I create without preconceived resolutions. Gestures are intentional and probing, although unplanned and arbitrary. The outcomes are internally guided and uninhibited.
