When I was offered the opportunity to study Printmaking, I was unsure as I didn’t really know what it entailed. At first I struggled with the processes and translating my earlier practice into print. As much as I was enjoying it, I felt slightly disconnected to my work and struggled to find my place. It took a lot of trial and error but the people around me noticed the change in me and my excitement to try new things. I have rediscovered love again for art and have learnt how to combine printmaking and other mediums I work with.
Creating works that evoke emotion also allows for me to express myself and entangle parts of myself throughout, giving someone the chance to relate. I am a mixed media artist but have finally found so much joy within printmaking and studying the ways that I can combine processes and approaches. I love to work with digital elements (especially collaging), screen print, linocut, textiles, photo etching and investigating ways that I can combine them. I work with these mediums but I am inspired and excited to always try new processes, mediums and techniques, finding my own wacky way to do so. Within my practice I often work from my own experiences, exploring themes of Queerness, Mental health, Identity and pure weirdness. I aim to create pieces of work that capture the viewers attention, inviting them to interact, to feel something.
