STARSONG
starsong is both a meditation and a map – an attempt to locate the self within a vast, interconnected cosmos.
Creating this work is an ongoing process of connecting the dots, and witnessing the darkness between them. In this process it is important to not be afraid of the unknown, as I am reminded that not all meaning is explicit or illuminated.
Through the lens of interconnectivity, this work examines the relationship between the personal and the cosmological. According to the laws of Indra’s net, we reflect each other, and each holds the other within the web of interdependence. This web of interdependence extends into the interaction between myself, the installation and the viewer. I invite the viewer to recognise their position too as a node within the net of interdependence, affecting and being affected by the work, entangled in a cosmic dialogue.
