A PLACE TO LEARN AND LIE 2025
Amidst a tumultuous world full of inspiration and tragedy, I wanted to create a space that offers refuge — a haven where you are not required to know, fix, or lead. You may sit, lie, read, cry, and surrender to softness. Breathe in. Breathe out. We cannot help each other until we can help ourselves – learning to relax is one way to begin. This is how I relax.
I am a multi-disciplinary artist who works with textiles, printmaking and sewing. My practice is focused on tactility, audience interaction, and intuitive processes.
Through printed and sewn works, I explore how tone, texture, and materiality can communicate comfort and familiarity, and ignite reflection. My work embraces imperfection and inconsistency as vital to connection and authenticity. Once a piece is observed by someone other than me, the way it resonates with the viewer becomes integral to the process. I want you to feel as though you’ve seen this all before — not because I intend to imitate, but because I believe we each hold different ways of expressing human needs that are simultaneously personal and universal.
My final year project continues this inquiry through an exploration of rest and community. My textiles act as both object and invitation — representations of interconnectedness and subtle resistance against omnipresent demands of capitalism. Informed by my experiences as a neurodivergent artist, the work offers a sensory sanctuary that is simultaneously playful and restorative.
