Walk through the meadows of time, discover what’s left.
Observe how the earth is endless, eternal and unforgiving.
Watch as the world evolves and mutates, new life forms from death, on a repeating cycle, forever.

BEYOND DYSTOPIA

What will be born from the ruins of our world, far beyond the dystopian reality I feel we are living in?

Within my practice I explore the idea of future ruins, with the remnants of the present time, encapsulated in a speculative fiction of a future reality. Weaving a narrative within a world of ecological collapse, a decaying landscape persisting in constant death and rebirth.

My multidisciplinary practice is both personal and political. Through drawing, writing, and sculpting, I’m seeking a way to reckon with my own fear and grief about everything we have lost and the world we have created while also trying to generate a sense of compassion in others and remind them, they too are part of this earth.

I offer my respect to the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waterways I inhabit/conduct my research, study and art practice on, the Boonwurrung and Wurundjeri Woi Worung language group, people of the Kulin Nation and Elders past and present. Whose knowledge, storytelling and worlding has taught, inspired and informed my practice around speculative fiction and imagining future ruins.
