RUN THE GAMUT / RIDE THE LINE is a dedication to the between state, the not quite here or there, the process, the liminal. I have spent a lot of time on the train in the past few years; the two-hour commute into the city has meant I’ve adapted my practice to this transitional space. The more time I spent in the between, the more subjective something like space seemed, moving so fast that by time I processed the idea of “here”, I would already be somewhere new. I have explored these experiences through the pixelated haze of screenprinting methods. In screenprinting the technique of using four colours printed as tiny dots can be used to create a whole spectrum of colour, the eyes and brain filling in the gaps, smoothing the visual into something understandable. In this work the screen printing process is explored, deconstructed and boundaries of process pushed. The imagery of train windows are echoes of the liminal space which become hosted in structures of a deconstructed process.

I am an emerging artist living and making across the unceded lands of the people of the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung language group of the Kulin nation and the Brayakaulung people of Gunaikurnai nation. My practice is driven by possibility and curiosity using experimental printmaking, particularly involving screen printing, as well as using textile elements. My work echoes my personal neurodivergence and queerness with a fundamental theme of questioning prescribed social structures.
