MOSAIC

This collection of works, created using various printmaking techniques, explores Syrian civilisation and culture through the metaphor of a treasured box. Throughout history, Syria has embraced dozens of civilisations, just as the box in this project embraces many of my memory. The project begins with a personal object—a box that has accompanied me since birth, carrying accumulated memories. The box represents Mother Nature for me, who holds all her children within her. Nature becomes a symbolic container for this idea: the box itself represents the natural world, while the jewels it holds represent civilisations. Syria is one of these precious jewels I am exploring.

I am an artist and graphic designer from Syria living in Melbourne, Australia. I will soon graduate from RMIT with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. I previously graduated from RMIT with a Bachelor of Design (Communication Design). I am ambitious in the field of printmaking and exploring printed media that rely on texture, engraving, collagraph, mono print, engraving, screen print and combining them to create a work of art.
