Bio Statement:
Yu Tian is a postgraduate student in Arts Management, with an undergraduate background in Music Education. With expertise in both music and arts management, her research focuses on how art can serve as an emotional support tool within university mental health contexts. She specifically explores the therapeutic potential of music in non-clinical mental health support. As a member of this age group, she deeply understands the emotional strength and psychological value that art can provide—not only in overcoming real-life challenges, but also in offering support during times of personal difficulty.
Abstract:
This study explores the feasibility of integrating music therapy with 360-degree immersive visual projection to create a multisensory meditation space for university students aged 18 to 25. The aim is to provide a more accessible, non-clinical intervention for mental health support. Through a review of existing literature, the research identifies a general lack of emotional guidance, immersive experience, and group-specific design in current interventions. Methodologically, the study adopts literature analysis and case comparison, focusing on two exhibitions–The Sea of Infinity and Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience, and evaluates them in terms of emotional resonance, spatial design, and audience relevance. Based on these insights, the study proposes a conceptual exhibition model integrating music and digital media. It concludes that such exhibitions hold potential as non-clinical mental health support tools in future university settings and offer valuable references for curatorial and therapeutic practices.
