Wondering the third space: navigating the politics of personal and collective identity through deconstructive installations and sculptures.
The installation project uses multimedia sculptures to explore Qin’s complicated relationship with her life under China’s collectivism. By deconstructing and reconstructing everyday materials and objects that are culturally significant, the project aims to create a space for cathartic release of the pain associated with pivotal moments from her past.
Qin is a Chinese multimedia installation artist whose works stems from a liminal space between her personal values and socio-political norms. Qin received her BFA degree from Emily Carr University in 2018. She is expected to graduate from the MFA program at RMIT and is currently exploring her artistic path as an emerging artist. In 2025, Qin participated as one of the curators in the group exhibition Convergence at Blindside Gallery. Her work has been featured in the group exhibition Assembly and Reflection at respectively Jacky Winter Gallery and Brunswick Street Gallery .
