I’LL JUST SAY THANK YA
This project explores the experience of parting ways with someone who is important to me. Created during a time of major personal transition, it reflects the emotional weight of saying goodbye to someone who taught me a great deal — both about myself and about the country I call home.
After six years of comfort and familiarity, I was forced to find stability in the unfamiliar. In the process of rediscovering myself, I confronted harmful indulgences in this time and found my feet as an individual again. This series explores the non-linear nature of healing and highlights how art became not just an outlet, but a form of healing and reflection.
As cliché or even cringe as it might feel, this series felt like the right major project because it came from a classic life lesson. Maybe I’ll look back on it one day and feel embarrassed — but that’s okay. During this time these feelings were real. It was something I needed to work through, and art was a positive outlet
I used to process it. This is where I was in life, and this work is the result of trying to make sense of it all.
