Devices of Desire.

This research project explores desire as a human experience through the context of arcade machines and vending machines. Inspired by the fascination and curiosity I experienced during my upbringing in Hong Kong, the project investigates the captivating attraction and relationship between interactive devices and people. And reviews how desire is embedded in the mechanism. My art practice applies artificial materials and methods, such as plastic, ready-made objects and 3D printing, to reiterate the familarised everyday encounter. Through creating playful yet thought-provoking engaging experiences, the installation invites audiences to reconsider the nature of desire.
