Eythan Harris

Summary

Eythan Harris (b. 2000, Perth, Western Australia) is a multidisciplinary artist who works with printed and illustrative mediums and is currently based in Naarm (Melbourne) Victoria. Harris’s practice as an emerging artist explores themes related to contemporary social issues, Australian cultural critique and humanitarian advocacy. Most recently these themes have been explored through print mediums where Harris has used contemporary history and political inequalities to highlight underrepresented narratives within the broader Australian cultural zeitgeist. Drawing on the experience of relocating from a more isolated part of Australia to Australia’s most populous city as well as their education in Fine Arts at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Harris creates work that questions dominant power structures, Australia’s conservative captured media and the narratives allowed to exist within Australian society. They have exhibited in student collections including Hot Off the Press in 2024 and What Comes After Acknowledgement in 2025 and have had their work featured in the Open Bite 2025 print auction and the 2025 RMIT international print exchange portfolio. Alongside their practice Harris is pursuing further studies in the field of fine art conservation in 2026. Through their work, they seek to shift the Overton window in Australian discourse to re-frame acceptable discussion and advocate for socially progressive and environmentally sustainable humanitarian causes.
