Lexi Appleby is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Melbourne, working predominantly with ceramics. She creates works that explore personal identity and societal structures through visual narratives and metaphors. Raised in rural Australia, Appleby utilises the ceramic form to create artworks that subvert contemporary notions of value, creating silhouettes that reference working-class artifacts. Her colourful scenes wrap around these objects, depicting narratives that explore social rituals, cultural mythologies and personal relationships. Appleby is currently completing her Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) at RMIT and has participated in a number of group exhibitions.
