ROOH OF PAKISTAN

Encapsulating the essence of Pakistan with its traditional cuts, meticulous craftsmanship and vivacious colours, each edit from this collection draws inspiration from the rich Pakistani culture and heritage bound to make you look classy and stylish.

Rooh Of Pakistan is a collection of fashion portraits exploring South East Asian culture and fashion, as the lack of South East Asian representation was the inspiration for this project. This project expresses my adoration and appreciation towards representing the beautiful and traditional clothing of my country Pakistan and its ethereal culture in an attempt to showcase more South East Asian culture in the photography industry.

The work consists of two shoots with different aesthetics, each having distinct colour schemes and styles of clothing for each model. Beginning this project with soft, elegant and lush photographs we have Nazakat, meaning ‘Elegance’. This rooftop shoot contains a pastel colour scheme that really accentuates the mesmerising details and craftsmanship of the stunning pieces worn by the models. Maharani, meaning ‘Queen’ or ‘Royalty’, is the second installation for this project. The deep red and warm tone aesthetic and style for this series worn by the models was to showcase traditional Pakistani royalty.

Rooh Of Pakistan is for my viewers to experience the beauty of South East Asian culture and fashion through my photographs. So they can also learn to love and appreciate such a vision and beauty, the same way I have loved and respected it my whole life.
