DATA CYMATIC explores the fluidity of digital data through the creation of visuals and sound and their connectivity. Audio-reactive connections between a combination of renders and source imagery have been coded to the sound source to rip the visual data apart via converting CV (Control Voltage) from the sound to data which manipulates the form and generation of the visuals. The sound and image components interact to build and dismantle each other and in doing so produce an experience of real-time visual connections between music and sound.

Influenced by the explorations of Rosa Menkmen and glitch photography, the work delves into the fragility of digital data; its generation, and manipulation. The source imagery utilises archival videos of cellular growth, imagery that necessitates a technology to be visible to the human eye, much like sound. The multi-screen installation demonstrates the affective nature of sound and imagery and points to the digital degrees of manipulation and generation.
