This Master’s project uses installation, text-based works and image prints to negotiate trauma, self-hatred and shame through accessing the aesthetic possibility of material agency. Through the techniques of collage and assemblage, photo documentation, and post-production this project seeks to explore the relationship between the body, material and the image; seeking ways of ventilating and releasing traumatic experience.
To act upon the body, the image, and the material is to generate open-ended work that manifests my way of engaging with the world, communicating the emotional complexities and wreckage of where we live.
