GIRL PARTY – In my photographic series, Girl Party I embark on a captivating exploration of the vibrant and visually stunning world of the 1960s. This body of work is characterised by vintage-styled wigs, bold makeup, authentic 60s fashion, and cinematic lighting that transports viewers to a different era. Each photograph within this series encapsulates distinct and relatable moments for young women who have experienced the party scene.
Avon Calling captures my character getting ready for a night out. Glamour in the Rearview Mirror immerses viewers in the journey of the party, where the music blares on the way to the event, setting the tone for the night ahead. Bad Influence captures the smokey atmosphere and camaraderie shared with friends, an essential component of any memorable gathering. Sunrise Sorrow casts a reflective light on the aftermath, exploring the feelings of regrets from the night before.
My objective in Girl Party is to preserve the vintage and retro aesthetic while placing a central character at the forefront of each composition. In essence, I infuse a cinematic quality into every photograph, inviting viewers to step into the vivid and nostalgic world of the 1960s, and to be emotionally and aesthetically transported to a time where every party was a journey worth remembering.
