Family is everything to me, so exploring how we are connected and what relates us was something that interested me greatly. By creating an image of each member of my large family, I was able to create a family tree connecting my family to me at the base of the tree. Once this was done, the viewer was able to begin seeing similarities between the people in my family, both in looks and also in attitude.
This work is really an image of myself, as through all these people and the family that has been created, I am the end product, I am the next part of the tree, and my children will continue my families legacy. It’s beautiful how such large numbers of people are all interconnected and how each person added to the family has traits and features of all those before them.
