Whisper (2024) is an immersive exploration that observes the affinity between humans and the natural world, focusing on jellyfish. Building on my previous projects that delved into the association between individuals and nature, this project further explores how empathy can be encouraged and practised by engaging with nature’s hidden stories. Through the lens of jellyfish photography, poetic text, video installations, and shell carvings, this project crafts a sensory space that seamlessly blends human perception with these creatures’ unique and rhythmic presence.

Jellyfish embody the interdependence theme, making them ideal for this project. As ancient creatures with decentralised neural networks, they thrive through connection rather than hierarchy. Their complex visual systems, sharing genetic traits with human eyes, emphasise a kinship that underscores the interconnectedness of all living beings.

Whisper (2024) creates a visual dialogue that reflects how the symbolic language of early humans borrowed patterns and forms from nature to become an interconnected metaphor. Through this narrative, the project invites the audience to catch the unseen rhythms of nature and emphasises that all life forms are interwoven together in a balance, encouraging the audience to reconsider their position in this universe.
