WORKING FACES: PORTRAITS IN PLACE

Working Faces: Portraits in Place explores the connection between people and their working environments through a series of environmental portraits. Each image captures individuals in their authentic settings, from bustling city streets to quiet studios, revealing the unique character and rhythm of their daily labor. The portraits are composed to highlight both the person and their surroundings, emphasising how identity and workspace intertwine. By photographing subjects where they work, the project aims to honour everyday professions and the unseen dedication that shapes the world around us.

Complementing these still portraits are slow-shutter photographs that document the movement and energy surrounding each workplace. These motion-filled images contrast the calm and composed portraits, offering a layered perspective of work as both still and dynamic. Together, the two approaches create a visual dialogue between stillness and motion, between the human presence and the constant activity that defines their environment. The project invites viewers to slow down, observe, and appreciate the beauty found in ordinary moments of labor.
