Things That Cannot Be Remembered

Things That Cannot Be Remembered is a photographic and installation-based project that explores the fragility and transformation of memory. Inspired by the artist’s experience of living with ADHD, it visualises how memories erode, fragment, and reconstruct within states of uncertainty—caught between remembering and forgetting, between what is real and what fades.

Using experimental techniques such as film soup and digital intervention, the work allows chance and destruction to shape the image. Through processes of immersion, scanning, and distortion, photographs dissolve and regenerate, reflecting the instability of recollection itself.

Presented as large silk prints suspended on metal structures and surrounded by soft light and ambient white noise, the installation creates a fluid, dreamlike space. The translucency of the silk lets the images drift and shift as viewers move through them, evoking sensations of disappearance and return.

Rather than recalling specific memories, the project seeks to embody the feeling of forgetfulness—photography as a medium not of preservation, but of transformation and renewal.
