Roadkill
Every day, violence – random or premeditated – occurs on our streets and in our homes. Roadkill is a project about fear; not of the unknown, not of the mysterious creatures in dark, but of the known.
The fear of the very possible, very real threat that lies waits outside: the fear of people, of harm, of unwanted exposure.
The fear that emerges from recognising your own vulnerability, and the fear of helplessness and an inability to change that.
The fear of being stalked by voyeurs and predatory eyes.
And alongside it, the deep desire to blend into the nightscape, to disappear, to become safe in your own obscurity.
