Zina Sofer is an artist and storyteller dedicated to representing marginalised voices and preserving forgotten narratives. Using a variety of mediums—including analogue photography, traditional darkroom techniques, weaving, photobooks, digital innovations, and AI-generated images—she explores personal and collective histories.
Her extensive research enriches her work, ensuring that the stories of ordinary individuals are highlighted. After retiring from her engineering career, she pursued photography, completing an Advanced Diploma at PSC in 2019, followed by a BA and Honours in Photography at RMIT. Currently, she is pursuing her Masters in Photography at RMIT, continually refining her skills and deepening her understanding of the field.
