The Learning and Design team provides high quality support and expertise for learning and teaching initiatives and projects within the College of Design and Social Context.

What we do

With an emphasis on how educational technologies can enhance the student experience, Learning Designers provide strategic learning and teaching advice to support the development of innovative learning opportunities for students.

To achieve this, we collaborate with teaching staff on the design and development of their blended and online learning activities and resources for their courses, including online assessments. If professional learning is required, we also facilitate workshops and group sessions for teaching staff.

Designing and Developing

We can partner with you by collaboratively designing new courses or enhancing an existing course.

In collaboration with the Learning & Teaching and Digital Production teams we can work with you on designing a new course or enhancing an existing course. We can take you on the journey from idea, to storyboard… right through to how to develop in Canvas.

Our course design focuses on various learning methodologies including Course Mapping and Learning Arches. We work with you to design transparent, collaborative and active learning experiences that maximise student engagement and achievement, and especially dialogue between learners and teachers.

We can work collaboratively with your School to design various types of course resources, online learning modules, learning activities, session plans and more. We can provide you with a range of learning solutions and educational technologies to help you achieve your course design goals.

Professional Learning

We can design and deliver professional learning opportunities including workshops to support teaching staff within your School.

Our team can deliver tailored professional learning including workshops, and small group/individual learning sessions that are customised for your School.

Working collaboratively with your School we ensure professional learning is relevant, meets the needs of your teaching teams and is carefully presented for ease of understanding and adoption.
